Submit your Voice

Inclusion on www.world-voices.com is free for all professional voice over artists except male American, Canadian or Australian voices. In order to ensure consistency and quality within the index, we ask that all voice overs agree to the following key terms:

• You may only submit a voice if you are a professional voice-over artist. Examples may be: broadcasters, studio voice talent or actors.
• You must have access to a recording studio which is online. Importantly the studio must be able to send files:
  • As attachments to email.
  • By FTP.
  Files must be able to be recorded in the following file formats:
  • MPEG layer 3 .mp3
  • Microsoft .wav (PCM formats)
  • Real Audio .ra
  If you cannot record in a specified format, please advise when you quote so the quote can be adjusted to allow for any studio fees.
• You must be able to supply your voice overs in 2 working days.
• You must estimate your prices by using the applicable letter on the Variable Voice Over Price Estimate Scale. Allow 15% for possible referral commissions (see below). Prices quoted include voice-over time, studio time and delivery by email or ftp. We discourage quote-only voice over artists because it makes it difficult for users to short list possible voices quickly. If you will only work on a quote basis, we will include you in the index but will put you at the bottom of the list.
• If you record in a language other than English, you must be able to translate from English. Translation is usually paid at 20c per English word.

Send us an email at voicemaster@world-voices.com with the following:

1. Your full name
2. Your email address
3. Your voice style / accent (be a precise as you can eg United States - New York - Bright Happy Voice)
4. Your prices with reference to a number on the Standard Price Estimate Scale
5. One or two paragraphs about your voice work experience, your work (if you work in the industry), the recording facilities that you have access to and a little bit about yourself to make it personal. This text will be able to be viewed by the public on your Feature Page on www.world-voices.com.
6. Attach sample voice over max 40 seconds recorded as a 11.025kHz mono 16bit wav file. Please name the file something useful like jbloggs.wav (if your name is Jane Bloggs) and not sample.wav or demo.wav.

Fees for inclusion (only Male USA/Canadian/Australian Voices)

Due to the excessive number of submissions of male voice samples from the USA, Canada and Australia - many of whom are not serious professional voice over artists. We have needed to charge a nominal fee of $US15 for listing of male USA/Canadian/Australian voices. We hope this will deter amateurs but not those who are serious about providing voice overs. If you are submitting a Male USA/Canadian/Australian voice, please supply your credit card name, number, CVV and expiration.

You do not need to pay if you are neither a male USA, a male Canadian nor a male Australian voice over.

Character Voices.

We also accept samples for inclusion in our new character voices section. Please submit your samples and note:

• Samples are limited to 10 - 15 seconds per character voice.
• Each voice is limited to 5 character voices (so select your best voices).
• When you send us your sample, please name the Character (eg. Young Child, Daffy Duck etc).
• Name the files in the format xy_character.wav where xy are your initials. For example Fred Bloggs submits Daffy Duck the file name might be fb_daffy.wav.

There is no fee for listing on world voices except for male USA, Canadian and Australian voices.

After we found that most voices were unable to accept credit card (which is almost essential for Internet work), www.world-voices.com has implemented its own request for quote, quote, order and online credit card payment system. This system is fully automated. You will receive detailed instructions by email when you receive a request for quote. We process the credit card for you and send you a bank draft once work is complete.

Since www.world-voices.com implemented this system, we have been charging commission on all transactions to cover the costs which include: bank merchant fees, bank draft fees for your payment, referral commission under the referral programme and, when you require us to assist with file conversion and so on, our studio fees. Commission usually ranges from 5% to 25% depending on the circumstances of the job (eg. whether the order came through a third party referral program etc.). You do not need to be too concerned with what the commission is, it will automatically be added to your quote by the www.world-voices.com system.
